Why I Built CMR

Small business owners are not failing because they lack effort, they are failing because they are forced to guess. After decades of leading teams, managing complex projects, and running my own businesses, I saw the same pattern everywhere. Owners were working hard but without a clear, disciplined way to make decisions, measure progress, or build momentum. CMR was created to give them that structure.

Engineering & Construction Leadership

For more than 30 years, I have led teams in engineering and construction, from small and fast-moving projects to multi-billion dollar programs. These environments demanded clarity, discipline, and systems that work in the real world. Those principles became the backbone of CMR.

Entrepreneurship

Since 2012, I have run my own business, ShaneMillerART.com. That experience gave me firsthand insight into the pressure, uncertainty, and responsibility small business owners carry every day.

Blue‑Collar Roots & Military Discipline

I grew up in a blue‑collar family business where work ethic was lived, not taught. Later, eight years in the U.S. Army reinforced discipline, responsibility, and doing things the right way.

Education

I graduated from CMSU, now UCM, in 1995 with a degree in Architectural Graphics, launching my career in engineering and construction.

Life Outside of Work

I’ve been married for 30 years and have three children. I enjoy snow skiing, church, exercise, hunting, woodworking, painting, and creating in general. I’ve always been someone who creates things, whether it’s a project, a team, a business, a system, or people.
